Mari Sitzmann is the type of artist who follows her gut. She doesn’t sugarcoat things and she feels that the music speaks for what she would say without it. Mari knows how to portray that in the most authentic way she can. Mari has always stayed true to herself, not conforming to what is popular or what she thinks others would want to hear, she creates and performs exactly how she feels she is meant to. She is simple and at ease with a microphone and guitar in front of her, and she believes with all her heart that that is what truly connects her with her audiences. “Expressing your most genuine self while being spotlighted on a stage, is how you receive the most genuine reactions back from an audience. It takes courage to be vulnerable, and that is what inspires me every time I get up on stage”. 

 

Mari is currently a junior at the prestigious Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts. She is currently studying songwriting and music business. She recently came out with her first EP titled, “Who I am Without You”. All lyrics and music written by Sitzmann. The 4 track EP represents growth within change, heartbreak through loss and grief, and love through self worth and the right person. Mari has performed this EP at many shows and venues, some including Sofar Sounds, Breaking Sound, and a Loft show at Berklee. She has experience performing in multiple different settings with her own music and with covers at restaurants, bars, private listening parties, weddings, and more. 

 

As Mari Is continuing to write more songs and planning on releasing them soon, her next big project is Berklee’s Signature Series from The Great American Songbook: Dreams — The Music of Fleetwood Mac. This show is dedicated to the music of Fleetwood Mac, all performed by current Berklee students. Mari will be performing in a girls trio singing a medley of “Bela Donna” and “Little Lies”. She has never been more excited for a show like this one.
